Global economy is 'almost' ruined! Which knife would you use?

Given the recent catastrophic economic events taking place in the WORLD a recent question crossed my mind when building up my survival equipment.

The question was: If I had to grab a single folding knife which one would it be?

Chaps, I have a vast collection of the latest and greatest knives and the pocket and fixed blade I would choose is as follows:

Pocket folder: Kershaw ZT 0200ST
Fixed Blade: Boker Armed Forces Tanto

I'm interested to know what your knife choice would be?

I'm not sure why someone would leave their home under such circumstances, but here's what I'd look for in a refugee knife:

Very small. Concealable. Something that won't raise suspicion or alarm when going through checkpoints or border crossings. Something that could never be construed as an offensive weapon and confiscated. Quality made. Durable. Inexpensive, so as not to be a theft target. Useful for a variety of tasks. Lightweight for carrying long distances.

Seems like a Swiss Army Knife or multi-tool would be just the thing to have.

Something from Victorinox or Leatherman, but why would you grab and leave? And why a Tanto as a survival tool. I have an orange handled Mora and a Leatherman Core in the car for the reason of not being confiscated. An opinel would work too.

Good question.

As a survival tool the knife Tanto seems to be acceptable but I have no experience of using it for that purpose. As a self-defence weapon it's even better.

I am thinking that a spear-head blade with rounded handle for the fixed blade would be a better choice though...

I've also been think about the Rambo First Blood II by Master Cutlery with 420 steel but I'm afraid it's more of a gimmick than serving real-world problems (like building shelter in a forest).

Well a gun would be the first thing I reached for but I think my Busse Skinney Ash would be at the top with a folder, most likely an SNG in my pocket.

If you have any thoughts on going on the road for a breakdown in the economy, go check out The Grapes Of Wrath, staring Henry Fonda. Take notes. Read the book.

Life on the road scrounging for work can be a real bummer. If your going to carry all your stuff with you, you need a compact tool that has many functions. Opening cans, small repairs, a saw for camp use. and no way it can be thought of as a weapon by cops, private security at work sites where transient labor is treated like inmates of someplace.

A sak would be great great.

Yeah I would have to agree on the SAK or Leatherman Idea, but if I could, I would problably have a Pilots Survival knife or a Rat3 also.

This one....of course it would be attached to the muzzle of my M1 Carbine...lol...

No brainer for me. One single folder: Fällkniven PXL. One fixed blade: Fehrman EJ.

But I'll smuggle a backup with me as well: maybe Extrema Ratio Col Moshin, maybe Busse NMSFNO.

If I was limited to one, then I'd take my best one, my Lochsa. I'd also take my best watch and pen and even my Tiffany cuff links. If the world is going to Hell, I wouldn't expect them to be there when I returned.

Wow, a knife after my shares had hit rock bottom? probably the sharpest razor blade i could find, and a bottle of prescription pills.

p.s unique wording of the done to death "one knife scenario"

Small Sebenza, or a Leatherman Core if I'm allowed a multitool.

As for a fixed blade.. probably a RAT-7. (subject to change)
