For those of you who were interested in the wrought iron offered for sale by Wisconsin Woodchuck that's been reclaimed from the Globe Elevator, I thought I'd post these. I am not associated with them in any way other than the fact I bought some WI from them. Some folks wanted to know if it was really even wrought iron, and if it was, how it looked. Here 'ya go...

First pic is a piece of the 1-1/4" with the cut and tear/break test.
Second is the only threaded portion I got in the whole box (5/8" rod). This was after knocking it down a bit with a carbide face mill.
Last is after an etch in real dilluted ferric and a quick sanding... I think this stuff is going to work out very nicely
