Does anyone have any experience with this quenchant? I haven't been able to find Parks #50 when it's in stock, and while I would prefer it, I have to look for other options. I did see a post on Don Foggs forum about it being so quick a guy cracked a blade in it, but I know the variables involved could add up to anything.

More specific questions, what steels would it be good for? (If it matters)

Has anyone had issues? (Blade cracking, poor cooling)

Anyone have a lead on Parks #50 I haven't checked out? I don't see it listed by Maxim, do they still sell it?

I've searched to no avail, sorry if it's been answered recently. Thank you.

kelly Couples usually has it, he is up here in WA state as well so will probably save on shipping compared to Maxim. If Maxim doesnt list it you could give them a call to see if they have it.

Kellys email octihunter@charter. net

Sorry I dont remember anything about that stuff. I know I have read about it but was a while back. More experienced guys will have some more info for ya probably.

I find Parks 50 to be too fast for some of the deep hardening steels. Kelly also has parks AAA for those deep hardening steels. Myself it use the 50 for shallow hardening steels and texaco type A for deep hardening steels.
