glock 23 v. springfield XDm compact 40

I carried a Springfield 1911 for a little while & switched to the G23. Easier to carry, dead-nuts reliable, smaller, lighter & a better magazine capacity. Puts the holes where you point it.

Although I've never owned a Glock 23 last year I put about 5 thousand or so rounds through my 17 and never had a hiccup. I love Glocks they're time tested and proven. I don't think you can go wrong getting the 23...if you haven't owned Glocks the grip angle may be a little different that what you're used to. You almost have to tilt you hand forward a tiny bit to get the sights to line up properly but it's worth it for the reliability.

I just got back from the gun store, where I fondled both again and the g23 is certainly my choice now. Thanks for all of the responses.

Now you only need to get some trigger time for practice. It seems I'm in the vast minority since I go weekly and go through 4 - 600 rounds a month. I am told that most gun owners don't even go through 500 rounds, let alone 1000, in a year.

I've been carrying the same M23 for about 15 years. No malfunctions of any kind. Nothing to fool with, just pull and shoot.

Don't own either, but I have shot the glocks. If I do Conceal Carry, I wouldn't go with the glock- the trigger's just too light for me. I'm really afraid of the trigger brushing against something... and BANG! off with my leg. :P I'd prefer a sig sauer p2022. Of course... I'm not old enough to conceal carry, but still. The DA/SA of the sig sauer seems a lot better to me.
