Glock 43 - Single Stack 9mm

I'm sticking with my G19 and G26DE. Single stack just doesn't hold enough rounds for me to take it seriously and I personally own enough Glock pistols and Colt rifles for a lifetime.

It will certainly put the heat onto Ruger and others who have been more out in front on this platform and caliber.

Count me in for one; long overdue IMHO.

I'd likely get a Kahr first.

I am a fan of the Kahr's but they have too stiff of a recoil spring for weak handed (my fiancée) folks. A firearm that she can't use precludes me from buying one.

I, for one, am super excited they are finally come out with this. I will get one as soon as some blue box models are available! It will supplement the its larger brothers well.

I'll be buying one of these like every other red blooded American, but I agree that this one is about 10 years too late. I'll wait a year before buying one, so the price can come down from the initial frenzy, and so the recalls can get taken care of. But I love these pocket 9's for EDC. Kahr PM9, Kel-tec PF9, S&W Shield, . . . .

It seems like it's very little difference between this and the 26 in overall size as far as length and slice thickness go. Why would I buy this instead of a 26 and short myself a few more rounds ammo on board?

Grip size, maybe? To me, Glocks feel like bricks. I sold mine long ago. Although I'm firmly a revolver guy, I'd at least like to see how this feels in my hand.

Love Glocks but not impressed. Not much smaller at all than the 26 and holds 4 less rounds... i'll stay with the 27 or LCP if i want really small.

I don't really see anything special about it, really. I think the S&W Shield will continue to ride on my hip.

I can totally see this as a backup weapon but not [necessarily] as a primary defense pistol [not for ME, anyway].

It's built on the .380 frame, albeit a tad longer.

An ankle or appendix holster backup? Absolutely.

Backup is exactly how their advertising it on website.

Looks like a winner for me.

Not sure I'll get one any time soon, but then again, I'd like to see it in .40

Wat does single stack mean?
Magazine with one cartridge stacked directly on another cartridge with the long axis center lines of the cartridges in a straight line from bottom cartridge to top. Double stack is where cartridges are staggered when stacked in the magazine. Double stack allows more cartridges in a given magazine height. Single stack allows for a thinner magazine width thus, in a pistol, a thinner grip.

Mags - you could also have something between single and double column which of cours e be a compromise in rounds and width.

My problem is a large hand and the short grip gives me little to hang on to .I think the G43 would be like that.
