Glock 43 - Single Stack 9mm

Lots of comment on this one since it was announced. The few reviews up on YouTube (including one by Masaad Ayoob) are very positive....Evidently a lot of "press" types were invited to a hands-on.
Most of the negative comments involve the price (though "street" price is frequently lower than MSRP) and the limited capacity.

Can't have it all..... Double-stack is wider. I bought a 27 a while back as an off-duty gun. Lot of firepower in a small package. I looked at a 42 recently,, one of the department guys bought one. Cute.... But I'm no fan of the .380..
This might be attractive.....Lots of times you just want something to throw in your pocket while you go to the store or whatever....Don't want to go to the trouble of suiting up with the IWB holster and belted trousers and all.

Glock fan but not impressed with the size, capacity, and price. Used to and still carry sometimes a 26, and was hoping for a 9 the size of the 42. Didn't happen and I went with a Ruger LC9S Pro a couple months ago and absolutely love it. The trigger is amazing, shoots great, holds 7+1, and the size and weight are perfect.

Yes, the new triggers on the new Ruger autoloaders was a much needed improvement, and Ruger certainly did it right.

Not a fan of the single stack glock triggers. And what's smaller than a glock 43 for back up? A spare glock 17 mag. Or 2.

Yeah, my 26 doesn't have a terrible trigger as it has a very nice and crisp break after you hit the wall. I've never tested the pull weight though they're supposed to be about 5.5 lb, but the LC9S trigger has got to be even a shade lighter than that. It's the best and smoothest striker fired trigger I've ever shot. No creep, then a wall, just one smooth, fluid motion into a crisp break.

Bottom line is, the singe stack gun is only a bit less than 3/16th of an inch thinner, 3 ounces less weight, and gives up 4 rounds of ammo.

Just not worth it. I think Glock is just shoveling stuff on the fan boys to sell more guns that have little advantage. If a 26 is a little too bug, a 43 ain't gonna make a difference.

Is the "thinness" dimension referring to the slide width or the grip? If I were interested in purchasing an auto, and having smallish hands, I am personally be concerned more about the circumference of the grip than in any other dimension. Double stacks just don't work for me. Yes, I can usually make the work, but it's not natural.

It has zero to do with fan boys. I cant stand double stack weapons. They feel much to wide in the grip for my hands. My duty weapon is a 1911, and all my backups are single stacks, ie: sig 938, sig 238, and glock 42. Some of us will forgo extra rounds for comfort, both in grip, and carry. If there was one perfect gun we would all have it. But there isn't so different flavors for different folks.

I know exactly how you feel. We are issued the Glock 23 but I prefer my Springfield .45 as my off duty/personal carry weapon. I'd rather carry a firearm that weighs twice as much with half the rounds - and I have "large" hands according to Hatch glove sizes to boot...

....but then again, I'm a big fan of my Beretta 92 also....so..lol

I love glocks and I will try one when they hit dealers but I agree that they are pretty late to the SS game. If it was out when I got my shield I would have given it a hard look.

From what I understand, the 43 is a bit large for pocket carry. If I have to put it on a belt, I might as well carry a 19, or 26.

I handled one today, will probably get to shoot it this weekend.

Not seeing what the hype is unless you like Glocks. Shield still feels better in hand, but the 43 has a "sharper" trigger which, I admit, does feel better. But it's still a glock, so ehh

Yes, the 43 is too big for pocket carry IMO

Mag is staggered like the 42, 6 round. Great for shooters with small hands, I had no problems getting a proper grip.
