I am a new member so I am testing the waters. I am looking for Glock 81 and British MOD Survival knives. Preferably in Canada. I require them for personal aircraft survival kit, so if anyone has a thought or direction it is welcome.

Thanks for your time folks

You should be able to find them on the internet. Why those knives in particular? Although I have nothing against either, I've read reviews that neither of them are great cutters, due to their edge grinds/blade geometry. I would think a flat, high saber, or convex grind might be more suitable.

I have both the M81 and the MOD.

The M81 is a very straightforward combat dagger/bayonet type knife. The slim blade is not much of a slicer. Not useful for woodcraft or anything really except poking and whacking stuff.

When I got the MOD it was absolutely horrible fat slab of steel with sort of a edge. It would NOT cut or chop. It was that bad. I modded the guard, the handle and full convexed it. I love it now although it's still heavy for it's size. It has potential but not as it comes from the factory. And for aircraft survival, I'd say just too big.

So neither would be my first choices though for aircraft survival kit/vest. I'd look for a good multitool and 4 - 5 inch fixed blade.
You could look at Gerber LMF 2, Kabar Mark 1 and ESEE 4. My personal choice would be the Gerber LMF 2. Been very pleased with it.

The Fallkniven F1 is completely different than the above 2. It is an exceptional knife designed for outdoors tasks and very highly regarded in the bushcraft/outdoors community.
