Glock field knife ,anybody use one ,and what is your opinion of the one with saw teeth for general camping ,woods loafing hunting ,survivial knife?

I've had the 81 variant for a few years and think its a hell of a knife for the money. It will do any task you need, it may not be ideal for game processing but can definitely do the job.

Buy one.

I won one at a Sheriff's conference a few years ago. My dad is an architect who specializes in jails, and if he's going somewhere for work with good hunting, and it's pheasant season, I'll tag along and help set up his booth, then enjoy the show and free swag.

It's a nice blade, and knowing the price on it, I was expecting a lot less quality. Even though it's made by Glock, and my daily carry is a Glock 23 or 27. It's been my go to blade anytime I plan on being out in nature hiking around.

I've got one and like it quite a bit. However, it a thick but narrow blade. More like a bayonet. I've always preferred a blade that was a little thinner but with a wider profile. For the money though you can't go wrong with the Glock Field knife.

I had one and did not use it much so I gave it to my neighbor. Blade was just a little to long for my taste. Still, when you look at what you get for the money, it is a heck of a buy.

I had one. They're not bad but there are better knives out there for what you want. I think Condor and Schrade are down in that price range.

It's "allright", bit soft steel and bad factory grind. It's meant more for grunts who don't treat their knives so kindly in the army.. and for that it is excellent.

I love it, but it's not an ideal knife for many knife things.

The saw teeth are a great design, totally smooth if you run your thumb from the base of the spine forward.

It's thick and tough, if you have a smaller, slicier knife along as well I think it would be a good enough large woods knife, and it's well worth the price.

Get it!

It is a bayonet. The steel is very soft meant for toughness not sharpness. For a beater in the truck it would be fine, but for a general camp craft type I would much prefer other options. Mora Bushcraft Black would make a much better camp knife.

Great balance, springy steel so you won't break it easily, doesn't hold an edge too well but is easy to sharpen, throws well. Don't expect it to be comfortable for camp duties, it wasn't designed for that. The saw works well for making notches.

I always thought of the Glock knife as a sort of take on the M3 fighting knife. Yeah?

Zieg

Spot on.

Rough fit and finish, lousy edge retention, and the thick blade makes it a terrible slicer.... Other than that, she's cherry. :D
