Glock Field Knife

I used to have one, got it as a gift when I was younger.

Save yourself some money and don't get one. The grind is almost comical, it takes some real work to make them cut.

For the price I'd advise checking out a Mora, like a Mora 2000.

I have one and like it a lot

Pros:
price
looks cool

Cons:
The steel seems kinda "brittle" to me

That's not much of a recommendation. I think it's supposed to be a 'tactical' knife. Usually that means the design is even more of a compromise of different functions than usual.

If you are looking at the Glock, how do you see using it?

A quick google search could have found nutnfancys review of this knife. He says it gives you more then you pay for, after you fix the edge grind.

I have one. Its a sharpened prybar. If that's what your looking for, its great. Inexpensive too. I paid 10 bucks for mine

Thanks all, great info.

Was thinking of it for an all around field knife, sounds like that may not be a pracitcal choice, although I would carry something smaller that I got from a friend of mine for any delicate type work, it's very sharp.

Thanks again.

Its not the greatest cutter but it does work and is tough as hell. I have abused the crap out of mine and it keeps asking for more. If your looking for a do everything beater it hard to beat the glock field knife.

I would agree with this. I picked one up on a business trip to CA because it was cheap and I had no knife. I gave it a workout in the bush and wasn't that impressed. The edge grind does need some serious work and it can be made into into a good cutter.

You can see I gave mine a fairly radical re-profile.

I had one and sold it...didn't care for it too much. It would make a good self defense weapon for stabbing. For the price I paid, $20.00 not really a bad knife, it was my truck knife. I didn't like the edge on it, but I'm sure a better edge can be put on it.

Carried one inverted on the shoulder strap of my pack for some time. Not bad for the money but it took some work to get the edge and tip where I wanted them. Not sure if it's typical of all of them but the tip on mine came really blunt. The root saw does actually work pretty well for making notches though, and it's pretty light for a sharpened pry bar with a saw on the spine. The retention mechanism holds the knife fairly securely in the sheath, but takes a little getting used to...or did for me.

This knife has been extensively discussed in the knife testing subforum. May be some one could dig up some old threads.
