Glock Knife Thoughts?

Does anyone have any experience with theses knives and what or your thoughts on it. How do they hold up in the field?

Thanks

This one comes up regularly.
Consensus seems to be that the blade is too narrow and the primary bevel is too steep for the knife to be a real "cutter".
This is, also, my experience.
And, personally, I think the whole thing is too light to be a "chopper". Doesn't leave a whole lot of room for the Glock to be usefull
as a field knife. But I am sure there are those who have found a niche where it is a handy tool.

If you are not laughing, you may as well be crying.

It makes a very nice fighting blade, but as has already been mentioned, it has no cutting belly and is best for stabbing. In my opinion, the Gerber Mark II is more attractive. Still, I was tempted to buy a Glock knife at my most recent gun show, and I remain tempted, at least a little...

And tomorrow when you wake up it will be worse.

I used one for a dive knife for a couple of months. I liked the sheath (good security) and the size. I tried to take care of it (cleaned and oiled after each use) but it just rusted away. Once, I removed the knife as soon as I reached the bottom (only around 40 feet) and the balde was already rusting. Well, you get the idea.

Good knife for it's price.
I like it for light choping or digging aroud a fire-place. To cut bread with it is not recomended, but you can open cans.
As for the oxidation: I've got a light layer of rust on it that act's like a protective coating. I had the knife with me on a holiday in a very humid cilmate.
So I can take care of the rust on the blade, but I'm not so sure about rust inside the handle.
I like it.
