They are tough, for sure.
But i would not consider them cutting tools in the first place. The non-descript spring steels do not seem to hold an edge too well and the geometry is less than ideal.
I treat and think of them more like sharpened pry bars that can be used as (somewhat disposable) battlefield stabbing weapons.

Sounds about right to me. Emphasis on the Sharpened Pry Bar part.
I used to have one and lost it along the way some where, I may have given it away. I keep telling myself that I should pick up another one. I've heard that the "root saw" on some of the models is actually pretty functional. The plastic sheath is pretty good too, maybe a little too much blade retention though. Easily fixed.
The other cool thing about the sheath is that it uses the guard of the knife for retention, so you can thin out/regrind the blade all you want without any retention issues.
