Glock m78, tell me why you like it.

It's light, tough, cheap, butt ugly, and not worth stealing. It is, therefore, good enough to have several stashed around the place. (yeah, a Mora is cheaper, but doesn't have the same defensive potential) If you want a real knife, the Cold Steel Survivalist is a piece of high-quality steel, with a proper heat treatment, at a very good price.

This is interesting. When I bought mine the 81 was the one that was hard to find and the 78 was plentiful. The situation seems to be the reverse now.

I forget exactly what I paid for them but I know that I overpaid for the 81. At least 2x the $36 it's going for on Amzn now but looks like I can make up the difference w/the 78 that's now going for more than 2x what I probably bought it for.

Good thing I bought them both so that I could average out the cost. LOL! ;)

Idk which model I have, it’s the one without the sawback, owned it for about a decade, it lives outside stuck in a crosscut stump I use for a throwing target. It’s an excellent throwing knife, I can’t break it and it throws well.
They are very tough, but the soft steel and the thick/narrow blade makes for a poor knife.
If you want a tough as nails dirty jobs prying poking throwing implement, they are the best bet.

I like it for a wedge to baton, and for prying and digging like a Hori-Hori.

It has pretty obtuse edge geometry, so it's not a super great cutting tool. Also, the spine will thrash your thumb making push cuts.

Not a bad truck knife for goofing around though.

I have one of those M78 in tan. My sister bought it for me when she was living in Austria. Cool to whatch and fondle, but the blade shape is not that utilitarian. Too thick of a blade for my taste. It seems more adecuate por stabbing stuff (which I don't do much).

I think a wider blade would bite better into wood if you chop something, slice better and provided is the same thickness, it will be as tough. Harder steel would be nice too, as the edge doesn't last much on it.

Mine does not seem much use.
