Glock or Springfield XD

I am really torn between the two....
I have shot the Glock and like it alot but I have not shot the Springfield but have heard nothing but positives...

Any help?
 
I'd say Glock, but I am biased. :D

Get the one that best fits your hand. Both are fine pistols.

I own both, bought my glock gen 1 back when they first came out. Bought my XD 45 when it first came out If I was given the choice you are faced with Go with the XD If your still not sure find a buddy that has one you can run a box or two through. or a range that offers rentals.

I own a Glock so I am biased but try both. I shot both and I liked the Glock a bit better. IIRC Glock's grips are angled more, like a Luger, and XD's are angled less, like a 1911.

Either way you should be happy with you purchase.
 
Also consider the XD-m and the Smith and Wesson M&P. These have interchangeable backstraps, unlike the Glock. (that said, Glock supposedly will introduce their interchangeable backstrapped gun at the 2010 SHOT Show)
 
my bud got one of the XDm's in 9MM and its a helluva good pistol, if i was looking for a hi-cap 9MM i would either get a glock or one of those, & the choice wouldnt be easy either, i suppose when it was all said & done i MIGHT would go with the glock based on the fact i have a few of them and never had any problems at all, but i do like the SA XD stuff a lot too, might would just flip a coin lol.
 
Get a Sig.

I have a Glock 19 and an XD-9 sub-compact. I like the XD better and it shoots better than the Glock, for me at least.

My next purchase will be a Sig and it will be the one I carry.
 
I've got a sub compact 9mm xd and love it. I've never shot a glock, and I've never heard anything bad about them!!!!
 
both fine guns ... i perfer the XD .... i have 1 glock and it is highly highly modified for me to grip it comfy.... the xd felt better outta the box... and still my fav at the range....

you will just have to get em in your hands and see which one fits better honestly.
 
Like others have already mentioned try both if possible and see what fits you best and what is the most comfortable for YOU. But as you can see by my name I am just a little biased ;).
 
I have both and the XD (XDm in my case) seems to fit my hand better. You didnt mention which size you are looking for. XDm I own is a full size weapon and I havent tried any of the compact XD's. I have the mid and baby size in the Glock also. Both are fine pistols but are a little thick for everyday concealed carry IMO. I seem to end up carrying my Sig 229R more than any. Shoot both and carry each for a day or two if you can.
 
I have both as well in 9MM and 45 and though they are both great gun manufacturers I prefer Glock but it is just personal preference.
 
You've really got to shoot both and see which you like better. Both are fine guns, it just depends on which feels and shoots better FOR YOU. I personally prefer Glocks.
 
I've got both an XD-45 and a Glock 21, and both are great guns. To me, the grip and angle on the XD feels more natural, and I tend to shoot more accurately with it. The only downside on the XD is the slide, it is much heavier than the Glock's causing it to have much more felt recoil which makes it slower to get back on target.
 
XD for me – it has a more updated ergo hand feel than the Block, i mean Glock;) And the Crimson Trace laser style for the XD is an outstanding design.
 
this is like comparing benchmade and sypderco. both greast guns! i won a g19 and an xd9sc and love them both. i like the size and capacity of the g19 but i shoot better with the xd. its a personal preference! u wont regret either decisiona nd will possibly own both one day anyway!
