I meant to do this earlier, but never got around to it. I just wanted to give a plug to Charlie Porter, a fellow Riddler, who the past couple of years has spent more and more time making knives. Some of you may remember his "Friend" knife that Jerry Van Cook wrote an article on in Tactical Knives.
I saw Charlie in September at Southern Steel and he had plenty of blades for sale, all of them small fixed-blades. I recommend Charlie whole-heartedly. You know how some people say "he's the nicest guy I know"? Well, I won't say Charlie is the nicest because I've seen him with a blade (though he is a nice guy), but he is BY FAR the most humble gentleman I ever met and is very easy to talk to. I have one of his Friend knives and it stays by my bedside. His blades are well-made and reasonably priced (his most expensive micarta-handled, 5-inch bladed knives were going for about $90!!).
