Glossy Tigerhide !!!????

Me too. It should look sweet! Unfortunately, I've been busy hunting trying to get a HUGE Buck with my bow, but he and his minions keep evading me at the edge of our club's property. Maybe tomorrow...

No sweat on the removal info!

I still think that sanding Micarta makes it 10 times better. My MOABOLO was hand smoothed from Busse but i have sanded it up to 2500 grit and it's so sticky from that i can't wait to get my other blades completely smooth. Perfection

That looks awesome.

I am surprised Busse does not make their own micarta and G10. Really would solve the supply issue

Hey Bullpin, thank you for starting this thread as it reminded me to finally order some Renaissance Wax after putting it off for way too many years.

I like the results more than I thought I would after trying it out last night. It seems to clean and enhance the colors without too much darkening when put onto a clean dry surface. I am not sure how to get the wet look to stay yet as mine did not really achieve the same look, but perhaps there is something else that needs to be applied prior to sealing it in with the wax... actively researching that now.

Anyhow, here is some tigerhide linen dry before applying Renwax last night.

One coat of Renwax applied and drying out to reach the white and ready to be buffed stage, I thought it might maintain this coloring, but it did not.

After the one coat dried white, I buffed it with the microfiber cloth it arrived with from the auction site to yield this nice shiny yet grippy look.

Here is a top/before & bottom/after comparison without any editing other than crop, copy & paste:

Tim, that looks great. I just finally got around to ordering some myself. None of the local places had any. We'll see how it works out. It does give it a nice shine. I'm just thinking the ones pictured is some kind of shellac or varnish. Possibly applied after a renwax so it doesn't get absorbed by the micarta.

I buffed my maroon Micarta today along with the wtf blade as well

I'll take a better pic tomorrow but this may be the way to go guys. I polished it for only about 5 mins on a high speed buffer with white bar super polish.

Your stripped WTF looks great Brandon.

AZTimT that waxed tigerhide looks great. I wonder how it will feel when wet?
