Anybody seen glow in the dark spacer material before? Know where I can get some?

Toys R Us, bet they carry the plastic stars and planets that get stuck on the celling. They would work just fine for spacer material.

If you need a specific color, you can get powder in a few different colors. Mix in epoxy and make your own spacers. I used it to glue up a leather washer handled knife for one of my grandsons. The handle looks normal in daytime, then glows a cool icy blue in the dark. The kids loved it. It could translate into orders from the other boy scout's parents.

I bought the stuff in a local craft shop but I'm sure it's available somewhere on line. The plastic bag just said "glow powder" and it's obvious which color you're buying.

Cool idea!
Got any pics Rujoco?
Definately post some pics if you ever finish a knife with Glow spacers Barker.

I have good luck with GITD powder and some handle materials. I have a set of blue GITD burlap scales for sale in the knifemaker supply section here...

also, here is a link to a discussion of some of the things I have been making, including some GITD stuff:

The glow handles are not only cool, I think they add to the utility of the knife, making it a bit harder to lose.

My avatar is a knife Del Ealy made with a yarn based scale with glow powder added.

Stingray,

I didn't take pics of that one, it's been a few months since I made it. I don't take too many pics cause the old lady gets jerked off when I ask her to get them from point A to point B. I have no clue how she does it. But....I'm working on two more for my other two grandsons who also joined the scouts. I'll make it a point to take pics and post them when completed. I'll probably have to buy her dinner or do some ridiculous chores, but I'll take one for the team I guess.

Not quite sure I understand those two sentences. Why does your wife have to be involved in you taking pictures? And whatever involvement she has, why does it bug her? Sorry, I just don't understand, and I'm a little nosy. And yes, I would appreciate you taking one for the team, but it's not that big a deal, don't want you gett'n divorced over a picture lol.

Stingray,

What I'm saying is that I can take the pics but she unloads them from the camera to where ever they go on the computer. Whenever I ask her to download pictures it's an ordeal, so I stopped asking. I'm not that interested in computer stuff. If I really want to keep something, I use the 35mm cause I know how to get them developed all by my self. I'm not in the habit of asking anyone for anything twice. (Especially if you know it's going to cause you a headache)

I looked in to that material as well. I found that it will 'wear out' after 2-7 years and no longer glow.
You might get a disappointed customer.
