So i wanted to try gluing scales together for drilling and rough cut. It worked great but now i can't get them apart. Used 3 small drops of CA . Figured a few whacks with a hammer would do it but that didn't work. Also tried a heat gun. Any suggestions?

I do it often, it takes a pretty sharp wack. I generally put my drop somewhere in the center and when I give it a wack on the end it twists and pops off. The ones that don't come off before I'm afraid I'll damage the scale, I usually pry up and they pop off.

I'd try freezing them. Never tried it but I know some have posted on here to do that to get scales off of knives and it's worked. Although it's ruined the scales but you're not dealing with that much glue.

you can also carefully try wedging in a razor blade to help start prying it apart.
but the hammer whack should do it,
rest the spine on an anvil, the handle hanging off freely, one light hammer whack ought to do it

Thank you for the quick replies gentlemen. The Anvil did the trick. The scales are separated!
