A little off topic but its related to the gluing of knife spacers. I working on a project where I'm gluing spacers between two .75 inch pieces of wood. I am curious if wood glue would hold this together well. Also, what have you're experiences been with staining the wood around the spacers. Does it tend to ruin the color of the spacer? I am using red spacers if that matters.

Thanks.

You can go ahead and try it yourself, but take my word for it, wood glue is not going to work well.

At a minimum, you want epoxy like the stuff you buy in the hardware store

at best you want GOOD epoxy

Brownells Accraglass,

or

or

Many people have found that fibre or rubber spacer liners still absorb moisture and shrink with humidity changes.
Many have moved to thin G10 spacers
