I have a noob question (actually 2 of them) about using spacer material. I'm considering using some on a future knife.

#1. When using them are you supposed to put your adhesive on both sides of the spacer material or do you just do one side?

#2 What is the "best" or most common thickness when using them for a fixed blade knife?

Thickness I asked about maybe a week or so ago. Most people prefer the .031..not too thin and not too thick like the .062.

You glue your spacer material to the scales first and let it dry. Then you glue the scales to the blade as normal.

Shaughnessy shows how to use liners in his scales WIP that should be on the 1st or 2nd page of the forum.

I cut pieces the same size as my scales, then flatten scales and sand one side of the liner to ruff it up some.Mix up epoxy and apply to one scale and put a piece of liner on it.Do the same to the other scale, then use a piece of wax paper between them and clamp them together, let dry overnite then fit to knife.
I use either .020 for a thin line or .031 for a little thcker line.
