No Black Ops here, just a "gotta run and may be out for a day or three" bag. Is it a backpack, rucksack, duffle? and what's in it ???

I'm putting a new one togather right now, the base will be my new MINI alice pack from WWW.actiongear.com, Its small, but I feel it will make a good one to two day bush pack, I'll post my packing list as soon as I get it done!!!

mines a back pack with three days worth of clothes inside, a bottle of asprin, a small fixed blade, a disposable lighter, and a leatherman.

I do keep a spare set of clothes in the car, but not in my jump kit. Only clothes there are an extra pair of socks, a wool cap, and some work gloves. Otherwise, my jump kit aims to supply me with the basics of food, shelter, water, first aid, navigation, rescue, and heat (even apart from fire).

Food can vary but include trail mix, MRE, powdered soup. Shelter is a tarp and paracord, yes there is a knife. Water is present as a half-liter bottle of water and also a filter straw. In the first aid kit is also some iodine (real iodine, not tabs). There are also a few quart sized high quality bags for holding water. There is a mirror and amateur radio (rescue), compass (navigation) and maps, and a few chemical heat packs. Other miscelaneous items include flash light, paper and pen, extra batteries for light and radio, hi-gain antenna, mylar space blankets (2), a few garbage bags, fire starters, small binoculars, and I know I must be missing something...

There are lots of good kits and ideas at this site: http://www.sonic.net/~quine/jumpkits.html

Have fun...

Mine is shaping up to be my new BECKER PATROL PACK, designed years ago by Ethan Becker. I just got it, and am having a helluva [fun] time redistributing my gear to the new pack. This thing is VERY well thought out. Jeff Randall was right...as usual

I'm going to revamp mine again this week and try it out on the weekend. I would ultimately like to get my BOB down to a tactical vest with large pouch/pocket on the back.

Here's a list of LISTS that I've put together for BOBs/Survival kits/72 hour kits.
