Going Back to College at 45 - any advice?

I went back for MBA. Have already an Honours in Quantity Surveying. Technology moves on and re-education is recommended. It was a great time back to university although I was older than a few lecturers.

I am looking for another 'alternative' design and technology to bring me where I want to be.

My advice is: Go at it hammer and tongs for the degree. If nothing else you will emerge intellectually richer and more self-confident. And, chances are, you will get a much better job if you decide not to work for yourself.

I went back to Hofstra U. at 31 after three years in the Army and ten years job experience.

Like other posters, I found that my previous life experience and maturity gave me a huge advantage over the younger students. I wanted to be there and was motivated to excellence. Many of the things taught were self-evident to me or so familiar it took very little effort to gain intuitive
understanding. This was in sharp contrast to my younger self and most of the other students.

I think you will find it easy to do your work and fulfill what is expected of you because your motivation will come from within.

Good luck.
