Going back to EDC -- pocket Glock

All this about nuts killing people has gotten me back to carrying my Glock.

I was sitting in a Waffle House yesterday and reading about the Montreal killing. I noticed some strange-looking people come in at various times, not together. Solitary. Introspective. Pressured. Possibly dangerous.

In light of the article I was reading, I began to wish I had my Glock with me. There would be no defense if some nut pulled a gun and started shooting. Anne and I could have gotten killed.

Of course nothing happened, and I probably looked as strange to them -- but I am carrying my Glock today. I have a permit.

I need to spend some range time. Just in case.

I have learned from bitter experience to pay attention to those feelings. Stay safe.

Bill, I was not in that waffle house.

Sounds like me, too.
But I am probably more dangerous to myself right now than to anyone else.

Some people eat too much cake late at night, worried about the day to come. And some of us aquire yet more hi capacity mags. We'll use them to trade for cake at the end of the world.

Reminds me of Y2K - A friend calls up and says he just bought xx Gallons of water in case there was a problem. He then asked if I had stocked up on anything and I told him no, I had guns. After a moment of silence he asked if he could come over with his water if anything happened.

While I have a lifetime permit to carry, as a schoolteacher it is not appropriate to be strapped while at school.....so there it sits in the truck. Not too long ago a Troop I have known for years caught me at a restaurant with out a pistol with me. I really felt chewed on when he was finished. the basic message was "Did we, or did we not issue a lifetime permit to carry? The thin blue line is thin enough without you leaving the f____g thing at home!" I really felt stupid....So I started carring again when not at school.
He's right....It would be terrible to sit and watch as some YoYo lit up my surroundings without being able to do anything. (Head down, embarassed) :(

I want the obligation to society to extend to civilians and not just cops or ex cops. I'd like to see more Korean Grociers, more people standing up, and a government and media backing them.

i dont enjoy life enough to worry about dieing-the mother ferr with the gun better feel the same way because i still have my blade-

rosconey2,

You sound as depressing as I am. I want to stay alive because there's a few things I'd like to do right, before I go. Hope you got some of those too.

A knife can reach the man with a gun very quickly.

Bill,
I was thinking the same thing as Munk and Mike...If you were in a wafflehouse in Burlington NC, then there is a good chance that you DID see me in there once or twice..lol

Glock in the pocket?? I carry 2 blades and a KT P-32 around with me everywhere...I plan on replacing the P-32 once the new KT PF9 get's out and has a chance to prove itself!

BUT if all you can afford is a Glock, then I guess that is what you should carry...:)

not depresed -
just dont care either way-when my times comes be it a slow agonising death or a fast and clean one its already in the cards-so why bother worrying-

i just roll with life, sometimes its uphill sometimes down hill mostly flat land

we need to pass legislation to ban waffle houses with high-capacity seating.
That way, when something bad happens, only 7 people can be killed...

My second carry gun is a Kel Tec 380. These are sweet guns. I want to see how much lighter the KT PF9s are than the Glock

I got fired yesterday and I'm depressed. But I hope to god I never have to take it out on strangers in a freaking waffle house. Anybody want to hire a 55 year old burned out ex-drunk ex-fast food manager ex-land surveyor ex-purchasing agent? I'm trainable. :)

doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.
In my, progressive, part of the country you have to kiss the ass of the local sheriff to get permission(that's right-permission) to carry from them and self protection isn't a good reason. Santa Clara County has something less than 100 issued for the entire population. Another reason I hate California.

I sat outside of a Waffle House for about 45 minutes in Atlanta (there's a Waffle House on every corner down there it seems) waiting to see an old friend while I was passing through on my way to FL. After about ten minutes, I reached inside my van and pulled out my .357 and placed it on the front seat within easy reach. There were WAY too many iffy folks wandering through that parking lot. The dog even seemed nervous.

I make it a point not to go to Waffle House parking lots anymore...

Specter is right... pay attention to those inner feelings.
