Yellow is bad Ju-Ju. The only exception to the rule is traditional pocket knives.
A few friends and I have a running joke about a yellow cigarette lighter that made its rounds among us. Whoever had it was cursed with a string of bad luck so we'd pass it on to someone when they asked for a light. We'd hand it over and explain that it was theirs now and they could do what they wanted with it.
My second strike against the color is career based. I work in the auto paint industry. Matching colors (if you can believe that such a job exists ). Yellow's have always been a pain for several reasons.
I'll never own anything yellow if I can help it. Cars, tools (if I can help it) modern knives, post-it notes, lighters, submarines, you name it.
I do own two yellow Case knives and if another comes around I might snap it up. Otherwise, I've grown quite fond of Orange Bic lighters and the orange G-10 scales on some of the Case knives are hi-vis and not too hard on the eyes.
This is my new favorite. Besides the yellow Delrin, they have rounded the ends more.
Now if I can just keep talking up a 303 sized yellow with two blades on the same end, clip and warcliff, maybe a good fairy will hear me and make it so....... Wouldn't a nice silver anvil, look good in place of blue....300/ch
I feel your pain on setting it down and not being able to find it. I am a FF/EMT, and the knife I carry at work is orange for that reason!
The other day I was replacing the ceiling fan on my back porch and dropped a nut, it skipped off the deck once, then fell right into the grass. I looked for about 10 minutes, and I guess the swearing attracted my wife, who walked right up to it and picked it up. I was shocked, even though she's done this 1,000 times before.
I wish I could make something like this up, but according to her, about 4 generations back the women in her family were blessed by a witch with the gift to find lost things. My wife will walk into a room she's never been in before and find something that has been lost forever. It's come in plenty handy.
So yeah, I totally understand the need for yella, and wish blaze orange or fire engine red were more readily available options.
