Going clipless?

The clip broke off my first Delica so I ground it off flat, I tried carrying this way for a while but missed the clip too much so I bought another Delica. The old Delica has been residing in my fishing tackle box for the past 10+ years...

been blazing hot temps lately......shorts/trunks kinda weather....so I reattached the clip on my Delica4 with some blue loctite.......ah, I kinda missed the clip... :p

I like clips on large knives..small knives make the pocket top heavy..
Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to use the clip

Molded clip on my old Delica snapped off many years ago. Filed off the existing nub and have been carrying it in the pocket ever since. Got used to opening it without the clip to hang onto very quickly. At least you will still have the luxury of putting your clip back on.

NOt that you have a desire to, but STR on here could probably mod your delica and put a low rider clip on it. He's the best!

Best,
Brett

i NEVER carry a knife without the clip, seems like a step backwards to me, at least for the way i carry/the knives i carry.

I go clipless with all my Spydercos, including my Military. With a knife the size and lightness of a Delica or Native it really shouldn't be uncomfortable at all. Knives don't start to bother me in the pocket until you move into the Endura size range, but I'd still rather carry them clipless and enjoy superior ergonomics than use a clip.

I agree 100%. I carry almost all my Spydercos clipless (except the Waves and a couple others). Much more ergonomic, IMO, and better looking. Also I don't like to advertise I'm carrying a knife.

I like carrying my Delica 4, but I just don't like it or any knife sticking out of my pocket. I'm thinking about removing the clip to make the knife lighter and slimmer for pocket carry.

Has anyone else done this?

I remove the clips from all of my knives!

Pocket Clips=Evil!

I do not often remove clips, but with most of my knives I will NOT carry them clipped into a pocket. I have lost several that way when moving through brush, and even had one hook itself onto the rim of a vehicle's wheel well, and then fall to the pavement. My Tarani Masters Model Karambit folder has a very strong clip, and I do wear it clipped into a pocket. Sometimes, I use a belt sheath. Otherwise, I use an Uncle Mike's pocket holster sized for small auto pistols, which helps a knife not get lost inside a pants pocket, and protects the pocket lining from such knives as my Strider AR, which will wear holes in a pocket right quickly.

I used to agree with this, but after getting spoiled using the low-ride, low-profile, tip-up clip on the Caly3 and UKPK for IWB carry, I just couldn't tolerate the clip on my Caly Jr. If I carry the Caly Jr, it's loose in my pocket w/o the clip. I still love clips, but I'm now too snooty to tolerate tip-down ones.

This is always a concern with clips. I had a MiniGrip catch on a seat belt as I was getting out of a vehicle - it bent the clip and scratched up the knife when it landed. I'm gravitating toward IWB carry for knives with a good clip.

Well, I've been carrying my clipless D4 for about a month now and so far, no regrets. I really like the comfort of knowing that I'm not going to accidentally scratch my Jeep, which I did once in the past. :(

I've been considering buying a Dragonfly and busting the clip off. Just the right size of knife, but clips just dont work for me.
