Kershaw RJI
Kershaw Tremor
Kershaw Salvo
Kershaw Vapor III

Ka-Bar Fin Mojo
Ka-Bar G-10 Mule
Ka-Bar Warthog
Ka-Bar Dozier

Benchmade H&K Monochrome
Benchmade H&K Ascender
Benchmade H&K Pika II Tanto

5.11 Tactical Alpha Scout

Spyderco Ambitious
Spyderco Persistence
Spyderco Tenacious
Spyderco UKPK FRN
- Really Looking For A Good Spyderco But Not Sure Of Others That Are Under $40?

Buck Nobleman
Buck 55

Also Looking At:
Meyerco Catch Dog
Meyerco Blackie Collins Classic Tactical
Meyerco Maxx-Q Tactical Assisted Opener, Carbon Fiber

Sadly, A Manix 2 Is Out Of My Price Range, But If You Have One And It Needs A New Home, Let Me Know. =]

Thanks For Everything Guys!

Why not just save some money and try going for quality over quantity? I'd rather have 1 really good knife, than 5 not so good knives. Just a thought.

Not Able To Save. This Is A Gift From My Mom For My Birthday, And The Limit Is Like... $37 Or Something Like That.

If you are unable to add money to the $37 or accumulate additional funds within a set time frame, buy a Kershaw Skyline.

Some of my favorites in that price range are the Kershaw Shallot, Becker BK-11, Buck 110, and Böker Plus Subcom Titan or Titan Drop.

Sadly... I Could Wait, And My Amount Would Be More. But, To Save My Mother Money, I'm Just Going With What Is Available Now. I Had A Kershaw Skyline Once, Great Knife, But If I Get One, I Want It To Be The Red Or The Tan/Black Or Maybe The Damascus.

I Had A Subcom, I Don't Really Like It. It's Thin, Small, Pocketable, But It's Fat Lol. Not At All Comfortable In My Hand.

Also Not Really Looking For Fixed Blades, And I Have My Every Day Lockback And It's Seeing Endless Pocket Time And Love, So I Think The 110 Would Just Sit, Or It Would Automatically Go For Trade.

Out of your list the only one I have is the Persistence. I don't like it much. If I could spend the 30 something dollars again I'd go for the lighter frn ukpk. I have the g10 ukpk and I really like it so I figure the frn version would be nice for it's price. You also have a few colors and blades to choose from.

spyderco cat and chicago are also about $40, you can add those to the list hehe.

my subcom titan just came in today, and i like it. i bought it because of its design, and its quite comfortable so far.

I Had A Persistence But Used It To Trade Up For My Orange G-10 UKPK Rescue, Which I Modified To Be A Plain Edge, It's An Awesome Knife, I Love The Thing. I Really Like The Spyderco Cat And Chicago But Haven't Found Any Below $40. So I'm Thinking About These Picks:
Spyderco Ambitious
Spyderco Tenacious - Maybe, Not Quite Sure, I Have The Larger Resilience And Love It.
Spyderco UKPK FRN - Maybe, Not Sure Either, Because I Do Have The G-10 One And Not Sure Why I'd Need Two.
Kershaw Tremor
Kershaw RJI
Kershaw Vapor III
Ka-Bar G-10 Mule
Benchmade H&K Monochrome
Benchmade H&K Ascender
Meyerco Catch Dog
Meyerco Maxx-Q Tactical Assisted Opener, Carbon Fiber

The tenacious is hard to beat at that price point.

I agree with Jiffy on the vantage also.

Another one you may want to check is the Boker Trance.

AG Russell 3.0 Ti lockback - small lockback with vg-10 - $30
spyderco kiwi - always a nice full gripped smaller knife, the slippies arent bad but i still prefer the older lockbacks with the vg-10 - $30, (youll have to look second hand market for lockback)
Boker Plus Ti Droppoint - basically a full sized version of the 3.0 but with a 440c blade - $40

What size and style of blade are you looking for? Without knowing exactly what you're looking for, our answers might be all over the place. Then again, maybe you want that .

Some of these have already been brought up, but here are some of the ones I've looked into, and have decided they are some of the nicer "inexpensive" blades that I'm considering:

Boker Trance (2.75in blade)
Kershaw Zing (3in blade)
Kershaw Chill(3 1/8in)
Kershaw Skyline(3 1/8in)
CRKT Drifter
CRKT Pazoda
Buck Vantage Avid
Spyderco Persistence
KaBar Dozier

Good luck man :).

Just throwing them out there, Sanrenmu and Enlan. Don't listen to people calling the SRM 710 a Sebenza rip-off, they are only vaguely similar, which you will find a lot with knives. Most SRM and Enlan knives don't have a left-hand carry option, but if you can get past that/don't need that, they are great.

•Anything from the Spyderco Byrd line is good.
•Any Opinel is great, preferably the stainless ones, as their stainless holds a better edge than their carbon steel.
•The Cold Steel True Flight Thrower is actually a great utility knife, as its 1055 steel is amazingly tough, takes a great edge, and probably has better edge retention than your kitchen knives. The Cold Steel Bushman is a great, inexpensive, unique fixed blade with a good balance between edge retention and toughness. The new Cold Steel Voyager line with Tri-Ad locks is in a class all its own. The Cold Steel Kudu is worth owning for may reasons, and is very easy on the wallet.
•Becker BK14.
•Any Mora fixed blade, preferably stainless, for the same reason as with the Opinels.
•Svord Peasant.
•Any Condor knife or machete in your price range.
•Any Sanrenmu or Enlan knife you like the looks and/or features of.
•Kershaw Needs Work. You can get a colored blemished one of these for less than $25 shipped from our very own Kershawguy.

And my most evil suggestion of all: Make your own knife. You can get the bare(really bare) essentials to make a fixed blade knife for less than $40 with a trip to a local salvage yard and a Harbor Freight store. Check out the FAQs in the Bladesmith Questions and Answers forum for more info on how to do this.

There are a few Byrds really worth having. The Cara Cara is excellent, Cat Byrd, some others. Check them out.
Cold Steel Voyager medium and large. Below $40 and insane value for money, best versatility, toughness, reliability, great ergo's.
