Going for it! 1 year edc.

Lol Chris, that is a good picture.

The bad part is So-Lo. I had a swiss army classic on the keys and a Case swayback jack in the pocket! If there is a knifeaholics anonymous it would be a good idea for me to go!

Navihawk you are a source of inspiration! :D

Do the year. Most of these "review" threads are a laugh riot. "The brown truck just dropped off my new Seb and initial impressions are positive..." That is, for lack of a better term, chickensh#t. Give it a one year stroll. Cut with it. Sharpen it. Clean it and disassemble it every now and then. Customize the edge angle. Take pics along the way. There's a running review over at the Spyderco factory forum where some dude is doing much the same thing with an FRN Stretch. It's a goldmine of pics and info. Check it out. You may want to do something similar. The Zaan is a heck of a knife. You are very fortunate to have one. Run it thru the wringer!! Cheers.

Don't worry about caving. There's a reason we knife nuts buy more than one knife...and that's so we can use them all. I wouldn't want to limit myself to just one knife for a year when I know I've got others I can carry. Just make sure you actually use them :D .

I've been carrying a Large Reg Sebenza as my work EDC for ten years now (time fly's when your having fun). Try something like that, carry only your 'zaan as your work knife for a year, start New Years Day so you have most of a month to get the knife sluttiness out of your system.

Congratulations on your Journeyman status. The day I received my IATSE card was a proud one, the culmination of a lifetime's hard work.

Nice Idea St. James! Congratulations on ten years! I may give that new years thing a shot.

I've got the Umnumzaan back in my pocket for the time being. It is an amazing knife for sure. I love opening and closing, playing around with all of the different comfortable grips and looking at the beautiful pivot.
