Hello folks my first topic here. I live in Brazil and I will be making a trip to Las Vegas for my 21 birthday, well but thats not the point. The thing is Beckers(Not only beckers knifes in general) are really expensive here a BK-11 cost 299,00 in local currency witch is about 150,00 U.S. Dollars, and the price on amazon is 32,98 U.S. Dollars. So I am thinking how should i spent the 300,00 U.S. dollars that I will bring only to purchase some knifes, sharpening rods, sheaths.

I already have the BK-2, and will put here a small list of prices from amazon to see whats the best combo you guys can plan for me.

BK-1: N/A
BK-2: $63.36 (Already own)
Becker micarta handles: $41.16
BK-3: $87.00
BK-4: $78.87
BK-5: $76.82
BK-6: N/A
BK-7: $98.69
BK-8: N/A
BK-9: $77.00
BK-10: N/A
BK-11: $32.98
BK-11: San-Mai: $84.95
Micarta Handles: $30.17
BK-12: N/A
BK-13: $19.09
BK-14: $33.86
Handles: $16.45
BK-15: $62.99
BK-16: $66.41
BK-17: $66.69

Laserlyte Mini Becker Tac-Tool: 21,79 (never heard about it)

Thank you guys.

Oooooooooo, this is a good thread.

Well, welcome to the US, Carlos, first off.

Welcome to the Becker forum, second.

You will most certainly want to get you a BK9, BK16, and a BK14 or a BK11. Those are the main staples of the line, and with that, you can begin your conquest of Brazil.

Let me know once you get it taken over, we will work on bringing down the price of US made knives, for starters, and begin the importation of Brazilian made hammocks en masse.

Good to have you around, brother.

Also, don't forget, you can get blades from Moose. He'll hook you up. I agree with the 9 and 16 and one of the neckers. 5 is also popular, as is the Machax.

That's nice to hear Moosez45.

It would be 177,00 and if I add the machax and one set of micarta 296,00.

Good to hear that my sweat money will bring some good things home.

I support using Moose. I'm pretty sure he can ship to wherever you are staying.

Yeah, I can ship to where ever he wants, but if he's coming to the US, best pick them up here. If I had to ship them to him in Brazil, its gonna cost about double the knife price, just for shipping. Brazil likes to do their own thing, and the shipping prices are atrocious.

Oh, and I just want to throw this in there, Carlos, have you checked to make sure you aren't going to have to pay a tax or something, or if its even legal to bring back knives from the US?

I know the couldn't care less about machetes, but they tend to view knives as weapons and machetes as tools.

Just curious.

They really dont mind knifes here... Has long has I dont bring it in a handbag. But for transportation it would need that i have a purshase receiptuntil I got then home.

Would you make a fine price for the bundle?

Email me at ionz45@aol.com. We'll hash out the details, but I'll do you the best deal I can. My stock is down right now, but I can get whatever you want to you, in about 2 weeks from order date.

Welcome Carlos Oak! Anyways, as Moosez45 suggested regarding the Becker BK-9 would be a good choice to have in your collection. Anyways hope all will be fine with your trip here to the U.S.A. and back to Brazil and with those Beckers!

I meant to where he was staying in the US. I realize that shipping overseas is horrendous!

9, 16 or 17, 14 with scales. That's my vote.

BK9, BK16/17 are my vote. Though if I were doing the same thing, I'd probably buy them all lol. Sell what you don't want and expand the conquest of Brazil.

Enjoy your trip.

If it were me I'd get a BK5, BK15, and either a BK9 or a BK4. Maybe both if I can stretch the budget a bit. I personally don't like the short handles of the BK11 and BK14, too small for my hands.

for $300US?

easy... BK17, BK9, BK14. And call it a day and go get drunk and play Blackjack on what I had left over. That's my opinion.

Welcome to the forum too.

Dont worry about bets on Las Vegas i've saved some money for that...

But will most likely be 3, 4, 11, 16 and a set of micarta handles.

About handles of 11 i have long but narrow hands, so I like small but fatter handles. Like the fatty BK-2 with it's .250 blade.

And i like the machax because it would be one less tool in the woods/bush generally I take one knife that is similar from the bk-16 a machete and a tomahawk. With the bk-4 i would take the machete and tomahawk away and trande my bk-16 lookalike for a bk-2 or a 16 maybe even a bk-11 if i like battoning with the 4.

Will most likely send some pics. After it from the tests

I really strongly suggest a 14 with Ka-Bar zytel. Mine is like an extension of my hand. If you're on the fence about it, take one home and try it out. A few months from now you will be like 'thank god I listened to that crazy guy on the internet who insisted that I buy this'.

I use my BK11 for than my BK2. Its small, strong, and can be used for an endless amount of functions. It is also inexpensive.
