Some good changes coming down the line for yours truly.

I recently got accepted into a 2 year furniture making program. (Link)
This starts in Feb. '06.

Also gave my notice here at work about 4 weeks ago ... my last day is this friday, July 22nd.

(giving notice happened before getting accepted to school ~ it's time to go anyway)

So ... I'm going on a walkabout for a while. First destination is Eastern Canada (new brunswick, nova scotia, quebec) ~ grabbing my best friend and hopping in my tacoma and hitting the road.

After that ... ??

Thus, I might be a bit vacant around here for a while. I have recently gotten a digital camera, and upgraded to Gold, and have promised long ago to post some pics of nice weapons, er ah tools ... this will happen, but not this week or the next.

Be safe everyone.

Seems to me you should share with the whole class.

Get a bus. We'll rendevous somewhere.

Ken Kesey did it, albeit somewhat bizarrely.

"Further" Nice name for a bus.

Be well and safe.

Don't worry about it; I'm vacant even when I'm here.

I'm really jealous about the furniture-making part. Would love to do that myself. Congratulations

Have fun...stop in a library once in a while and drop a note.

Take extra socks.

Great news Bamboo. Enjoy your break and school. Sounds like you're chasing the dream and I wish you the best. Go for it.

Oh man that sounds like fun! I have restarted careers twice now, but at age 49 am not sure if it is too late to start over again. Or maybe I just don't have the stomach to put my family through hard times while I get back to where I am now financially.

But, I hate my job so much now that almost anything would be an improvement.

Anyway, try and keep in touch from time to time, and have a great trip!

Regards,

Norm

A walkabout is such a wonderful way of looking at it.
You are a lucky man.

I know he's worked hard his whole life, I know he raised a family; but his name is "kismet' and he talks like this all the time and he's a hippie, hippie, hippie!!!!

all the best on your adventure my friend, hope you stuff yourself with memories

Great idea! This is what I should have done after retiring from law enforcement, and before teaching high school. Extended exploration with no definite goal sounds like good for the soul.... :D
