Going on Walkabout

Thanks everyone for the good wishes.

Cliff - I'd say I'm a combo of them both, and also not at all, if that makes any sense. I'll be learning 17/18th Century American and English styles, but then free to create once I'm out. I'm a big fan of asian styles so I'm sure I'll incorporate them once I'm running my own place.

I am also looking to work in people's homes, remodelling, doing high end trim work, etc... sort of the 'this old house' kind of thing. Norm does have a pretty kick asss shop...

Kismet, I'll work on the bus ....

John, I think we'd be great road warriors together. Maybe someday, eh?

Bruise - Nasty told me to send your money to him, so I guess that's what I'll do, because Nasty said to.

ala Roadrunner style - Work will release me from its clutches in 0 hours.

Interesting idea Kis. I've thought about something like before if I ever bought land up north to play on, and needed something temporary to live in. The bus in the picture actually looked pretty comfortable.

Well, I'm done with work. Today was the last day, and I got home about an hour ago ... time to start packing for Canada. Heading out tomorrow night, get back in a while!

See y'all!

Some good changes coming down the line for yours truly.

I recently got accepted into a 2 year furniture making program. (Link)
This starts in Feb. '06.

Also gave my notice here at work about 4 weeks ago ... my last day is this friday, July 22nd.

(giving notice happened before getting accepted to school ~ it's time to go anyway)

So ... I'm going on a walkabout for a while. First destination is Eastern Canada (new brunswick, nova scotia, quebec) ~ grabbing my best friend and hopping in my tacoma and hitting the road.

After that ... ??

Thus, I might be a bit vacant around here for a while. I have recently gotten a digital camera, and upgraded to Gold, and have promised long ago to post some pics of nice weapons, er ah tools ... this will happen, but not this week or the next.

Be safe everyone.

But it's not walkabout if you drive :D Anyway, good luck

I'm so jealous. I have been wanting to do a walkabout for a long time. But with a wife with a bun in the oven. Don't hink she'll be too happy if I disappear for 6 months to a year.

Things I should have done when I was young. :( :( :( :( :(
