I want to attempt a hidden tang knife and I have it profiled but want to make sure a few things before I go to far. Steel is .094 1095 and the tang is around .5".

I ground the tang down slightly for the handle, and the spine needs a little leveling, did not notice until I saw it in a picture.

Is the tang fine in the angle it is at or should I run it straight? Also is the tang to tall? and lastly since this is my first time with the hidden tang is it okay to just use a block of store bought oak?

Thanks,
Matt

I think you'll be fine like that. A downward angle on the tang is actually helpful on most hidden tang designs.

I agree, that looks fine. Nice sturdy shoulders, too
