Going to be on TV

Good advice Buddy. The AKTI is a very good resource. AG and Goldie Russell are Chairman and President.

We have a "Knife Issues, Politics and Law" forum on the CKCA website where we post and monitor issues the AKTI is working on.

Sorry, Kevin,

Goldie and I are members of the Board of Regents, Goldie was elected President of the Board for a second term.

Hi AG.
I thought you were also Chairman of the Board of Regents?

The organization is doing good work.

No, I never was. I was Chairman of A. G. Russell Knives, Inc for a while but Goldie took that too. I am now "Founder" of AGRK and chief knife designer.

I agree that AKTI is doing great work, the biggest problem is lack of support from makers and collectors. Money support.

Keith- I wish this was linked in the Canadian Connection as I missed it due to just finishing writing deferred midterms and was not surfing around here a lot (was hoping you would chime in on my thread in CC). I am not taking this lying down either. I am rounding everybody that owes me a favor up and using any connection I have in the martial arts community, as I am looking at starting a petition to hand in to Mandel and Silly Hall, that essentially will say that instead of giving lawyers the money to create an ineffective new bylaw, put that money into law enforcement and actually fight the problem.

Of course I have never done anything with a petition so if anybody can help me with forman etc. it would be greatly appreciated. I have to give a few massages tonight so I won't be at it right away, but anything to help will be appreciated.

(P. S. Lucky reporter- I have been too busy to get back in touch with you so I can see what real knifemakers' work is like).

Kris, we should get together and see if we can come up with a strategy to show the mayor that what he is planning is not the right way to go.

All the best Keith. You have the knowlege to represent the law abiding citizens who enjoy knife collecting. If the cave man banned knives they would have starved to death and we wouldn't be having this discussion.

I would really like that! I think that I have a decent start on a petition phrasing. I'll PM you my cell number, if you would like to call me tomorrow- I am in classes 9-12 and 1-3 but am free to talk other than that!

Just heard on the radio that the mayor has discovered after talking to lawyers that he isn't going to be able to follow through on his plan. That's very good news, but not a reason to get too comfortable. I have a feeling this isn't dead.

I am amazed that you Canucks' politicians suffer from the same irrational thinking that our liberal politicians here in California do. The political figure stands up and proudly states he or she is going after the legal items used in the crime instead of the perps.

Yay! We're going be safe now because we're going to take the evil knives or guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens.

Then, (as in the video clip and as always), they show a ignorant "average" citizen at the end saying they're all for making knives illegal. In the clip, they also said they're thinking about making large kitchen knives illegal! What madness!

Good job Keith and keep up the good fight.

Read that today and thought the same thing- wait until the uproar is over and then start again- the politician way. Good thing I never let my guard down and continuously represent the positives of knife ownership and use.

Like the red in my signature says:

man.....whats next sporks?foam covered t-ball bats? lets outlaw sticks and rocks, people have been killed with these weapons for thousands of years.

Tell them to focus on crime - not the methods used.
Next time there's a DUI fatality and the guy drove a Camaro, I think they should ban Chevrolet.
Give them that as an analogy.

Amen, this is so true, and good luck Keith.....this is kinda funny the whole thing, that there are actually people that think baning these things will prevent crimes.
