Going to buy my first hopefully this coming week.

Totally new here, have no idea who Rover is. Any pics of how well he conceals the FBM? I know for a fact I can carry a blade the size of the MNSFNO IWB but i'd love to hear first hand about the FBM, as I live in the woods and it would be handy to always have a blade like that available.

Generally speaking, whats the wait time/price range on an IWB for something like that?

Also, a link to your knife for sale? I'm interested.

Rover, Carries a FBM IWB sometimes. or a SFNO, or a NMSFNO, or a FSH even. I have not seen him try a NMFBM yet though.

He actually pulls it off pretty good.

Maybe PM him & see how it worked out.

I carry handguns IWB everyday, I find the 3 o clock position to be best.

Kind of where your hip pivots, to work best & to be the most comfortable.

E-mail me if you have any sheath questions.

I also have NMSFNO up for sale if you are still looking (not spaming just trying to help the new guy)

The NMSFNO is a really cool blade, and if you get a sharp one it's a mean chopper. Mine came to me pretty dull, but I'm halfway decent at sharpening knives so it wasn't too big of a deal. If you end up with one of the duller ones, you can always send it back to the Busse shop and they will put whatever kind of edge you want on it

Yeah, i'm HORRIBLE at sharpening knives, so i'll probably have to send it to get sharpened. Do Busse knives generally come dull to start out with? Would a spyderco sharpmaker be worth it? Never sharpened a convex edge so no idea if it's done differently.

Heh - that question is opening a BIG can o' worms. The short answer is that, despite some of the protest I've heard from some folks on these forums, yes, some Busse knives come with a sub-par edge from the factory. Some come very sharp, too. My nmsfno couldn't even really slice paper when I got it - it would catch and tear more than slice.

Honestly, it's worth learning to sharpen them yourself, whether it's using a sharpmaker or a mousepad and sandpaper or a belt grinder.

I used a sharpmaker years ago, then switched to the mousepad and sandpaper method to do convex edges, and recently upgraded to the belt sander. There are lots of tutorials for the various methods out there on the internet, and it's definitely worth learning one of them.

it might be worth it to convex it since it already has a convex primary bevel. the easiest way to do that by hand is with sandpaper over a mousepad or strop. there are some good tutorials here on how to do that.
i personally don't like the sharpmaker. it's also the only sharpening system like it i've used though. i used the sandpaper/mousepad for a long time before getting a belt sander

Sorry for the dumb questions, but you dont happen to have a link to some tutorials do you?

Learning to sharpen is a vital skill, especially if you like beating on your knives!!!! I started learning on a Sharpmaker, and they are great for touchups, and for smaller pocketknives... I just have trouble sharpening larger (8"+ blades) knives on it. Once I learned how to convex, I never went back!!!! Its really easy to reprofile a thick edge, sharpen a dull edge, or do a quick touch up when needed. I use a thick piece of leather, with sandpaper in grits of 220, 400, 600, 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000. I finish on the same piece of leather, loaded with a .5 micron CrO paste.

I have sharpened all of my knives to hair whittling sharp, as well as some of my buddies' knives as well.

This was my bud's NMSFNO after he was done attempting to sharpen it.

It was nearly a factory edge, thinned out a little and stropped like crazy.

He wanted it like a laser edge, so I spent about 30 min on some coarse paper, thinning it like a coke-riddled Kate Moss.
