Hey guys,
If decided my upside down belt sander clamped to a table isn't enough anymore, even for my little projects.
I want to start making my own knives and since it got another 6 weeks or so of lay off nows as good a time as any. I found a place that sells a 2x42 and I'm going to go check on pricing, if it's too much I'll go with a 1x30 anythings better than what I have now.
No real point to this thread just can't sleep I guess.

Check out the sling grinders. I was shocked at the price. I have made a lot of knives with a board belt sander clamped in a vise. 2" wide belts do help a lot as long as you have the horse power to drive them.

Id love to get a grinder in a box or a sling but residing in the great white north not only does shipping cost an arm and a leg but our dollar is terrible right now.
I'm going to take a look at some cheaper hardware store type models and once I've got some extra cash I'll build my own.
Whenever I go to flea markets I keep an eye open for motors and anything else I think I could use for a grinder.

Just did a quick Google search and they look good very simple which I like but it seems like his online store isn't available.
I'll keep an eye out in the future since it's still a little pricey for me right now, I'm sure it's well worth it but just not within the budget.

His online store is down but he's still making and selling grinders. Good luck on what ever you get.

listen to kevin , I know i didn't ... now i'm stuck with a low budget operation lol kevin probably ha more tdm grinders then terry himself
