I'm new to knives and I've read some articles and talked with some people on the forums and I've decided that I want to start collecting with Kershaws. I like their designs and I've been recommended to start my collection with them. I was wondering what Kershaw(s) you would recommend as my first knife in my collection? Also, if you know any trustworthy sellers or websites that I should buy from then that would be greatly appreciated. After I start collecting a little bit then what would be another good company to expand my collection with? I was recommended Spyderco and I checked them out, but I'm not really into their designs and looks. Hopefully someday I'll be able to hold a Spyderco and start to collect them, but for know I'm going to start with Kershaw. Thanks in advance! :)

Kershaw Skyline
Kershaw Zing
Kershaw Blur
Kershaw Leek

are all good knives to be first ones. :)

Damascus Kershaws are always a good start.. They come in Skyline, Shallot, Scallion, Chive, Leek and old school wild turkey..

Oh and a good dealer to start with Is Kershaw Guy of course... But he no have Damascus... Evilbay is your only good choice for that.. Or Gun/Knife shows

Start with the classics! Leek, Blur, Skyline. Once you get converted to the dark side get some ZTs! 0560 is a sure way to go.

The Leek and Skyline are probably my favorite Kershaws...Try out the Spyderco Endura4 FFG..If the Endura4 was my first knife my colection would of ended up alot smaller..Its my perfect large folder.

I'd also recommend looking at the selection of Kershaw RAMs that are available on the 'Bay. They're readily available now, but since they're discontinued and quite amazing, they'll go quickly. Also, if you've got the money, look for and pick up the Zero Tolerance 0780. It was out for a few weeks, and has been discontinued. It's going to be one of those blades that you'd wish you got in on when you had the chance. Don't miss out.

Kershawguy(.com) is a great guy and fantastic dealer, but while most people don't like it, I do use the big ol' eBay when I just can't find what I'm looking for anywhere else.

The Shallot, Scallion, Chive, and Leek all look wonderful with the white handle and damascus blade (at least to me). Thank You.

I found a website called "thekershawstore" and they have all those knives you listed in damascus.

+1 for the skyline, it's the kershaw that really hooked me, there are many online retailors that u can shop around for the best price on various knives but kershawguy's service is the absolute best I have ever experienced from a retailor of anything. When u get more serious and want to make the jump to $xxx knives, you can't go wrong with zero tolerance which is owned by the same parent company as kershaw.

I will definetly have to purchase a RAM sometime.

I've seen some of the Zero Tolerance knives and they all look amazing.

My favorites of the five I have now are the Junkyard Dog II and the Blur.

My Cryo arrives Thursday ...

I really like Kershaws too, but I only collect the ones I personally like and enjoy. With that, their are the limited edition blurs just released, and they will be gone soon. A purple and a green blur with cpm154 blades. There is a carbon fiber blur on its way also, Id grab them when they come out.
