Going to Void my Warranty!

As already mentioned, heat your screw heads with a soldering iron and buy some good quality torx drivers like Wiha's, it will help you avoid ruining your screw heads.

This. Soldering iron or a wood burner(what I have) heat up the head of the screw and most importantly a set of wiha drivers. You only need a t8 and t10. Well worth the marginal investment. They will save you a lot of head ache. Ask me how I know. I would seriously not touch the new on until you at least got a t8 wiha driver. They can be had on the bay for 6 or 7 bucks delivered in a few days. You can thank me later.

While we are on the topic of disassembly, anybody have a best way of fishing the scales/liners off the lanyard tube? Ive done it a few times but im sure there is a better way.

I'll thank you now...and everyone else! I did do some research before starting but obviously not enough. I will be well armed next time!

LOL. This makes me laugh especially with the thread title that the OP was so happy about. ;)

"Yeah....gonna void my warranty. Oh crap...I messed everything up."

Just have to put a screw driver in there wrapped with something so as not to scratch and pry/wiggle it out. Try to keep the both sides somewhat parallel to each other

I like it!
And, I prefer TD. Reaching into my pocket and thinking the knife point, sticking up, is going to cut me... well, its TD for me.

Exactly! I had this with my old manix2, opened in my pocket while grabbing it, cut my finger like it was a sausage

Thank you for the suggestion. I had it happen with my new compression Sage 5. I sent it in and got the warranty void info. So I guess I'll try to remedy the situation myself. The good news was that because I sent in the Sage I ordered a PARA 3 and I am obsessed with it, except for the used Military I bought off eBay and am hoping it is the real thing. I sure like it though. If anyone could check it out and give me their opinion I would really appreciate it!
It's on the last page of the knockoffs forum at: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/796442-Spyderco-Fakes-amp-Knock-Offs-Info/page56
I double posted by accident. -Drew
