Going under the knife (and not an HI)...

Good luck, Chris! Hope you get well and feel better soon!
As far as hospital food goes.. one word: "Jell-O". :)

Wishing the best for you! I hope you get the rest you need while in the hospital.

Well, I survived!

Now, I'm I'll be in recovery for a few days. The pain's not bad, and the pain pump is pretty effective at handling it. Anyhow, I wanted to let you guys know that it went ok, and things are going pretty well. Thank you all so much for your good wishes and smoke. It's really meant a lot, and will continue to mean a lot in the next few weeks. You guys are great, and I wish you all the best.

Thanks again, and take care,

Chris

Good for you and great to hear, Chris.
Do you get to watch old black and white movies while you recuperate, or is it in a living hell of soap operas?

munk

Well, having a computer and some books makes it a bit easier. I have been watching quite a bit of TV, but no soaps or black and whites so far. Good thing I like the History Channel and a couple others! If I had to resort to soap operas, then I guess I'd truly know that all is lost! :)

Thanks,

Chris

Glad to hear that all went well. The pain pump is a wonderful invention:thumbup:.

Glad you made it thru.
Be nice to the nurses. They have a hard job and they'll come quicker when called if it's not for every little thing and you are polite and appreciative.

27 channels of t.v. and nothings on...except food.:D At least that's the way it was when I had intestinal surgery. That, coupled with blurred vision ( side effect of anti-biotics) made me get a radio with ear phones.:grumpy:

Hang in there, you'll be out in a flash.

You got that right, Shappa. Nurses really make the hospital work, and I make it a point to get on their good sides from day one. Most of them are really nice people, and they really appreciate it when people are considerate of them--too often, they just get abuse and complaints. Really, they're the ones helping me out here. I just can't get why people would treat nurses bad. They can make or break your day, if you know what I mean.

Thanks again, guys, and I really appreciate your kind words. I'm feeling a little better, and I think it's going well! :)

but no soaps or black and whites so far.

Hey, What you got against black and white movies. I guess I'm a wierdo because I love old Myrna Loy movies....

I'm glad you had good nurse experiences. Bad ones are fatal, I know from experience. Right now there is a huge shortage of nurses, so that compounds the problems they face. Still, a nurse killed my Sister in Law plain and simple, killed her dead.:thumbdn:
