i am saving up my $$, a siltarp is going to be my next big gear purchase.
one thing to watch out for; grommets. grommets are somewhat prone to tearing out of fabric that's not reinforced. that's why alot of siltarp makers use webbing loops sewn in...
might not be a problem, or could be a big problem...for you to decide.
I don't have that particular item but I own several other GoLite products, including the Gust pack and some silnylon stuff sacks. They seem to be well sewn and have held up great.
Remeber though that silnylon is a sand MAGNET! Everything wants to stick to it because it seems to build up static electricity. Something cheaper are the Equinox brand tarps sold by Campmor. I live an hour South of the store....
I've got a golite Lair 2 that I've used on quite a few overnight trips in the high Sierras. The last trip I encountered a sudden hail storm and I was able to pitch the tarp quickly and stayed dry. It was big enough for me, my gear and roomy enough to sit upright in my thermarest chair and watch the hail come down.
