Usually, you can attach a shaft and fashion a makeshift spear out of the knife. Run a length of parachute cord through the holes and around the shaft and then wrap it several times up the handle and through the lanyard hole at the butt of the handle, and tie it off.

Hi, as Jackster says, it's for makeshift spear, I co designed it with friend of mine who's been professional soldier for many years, and he wanted it to be both fighting and bushcraft/survival knife.
