Hi everyone!
This blade is gomai, or 5 layer laminate. The outermost cladding is 256 layer damascus, the middle cladding is A203E, and the core is 1095. Each layer is separated by a pure nickel shim. I laddered the blade with a fullering dye to produce the wavy effect and also bring out some nice chatoyance in the damascus and A203E cladding. The blade itself has a slightly convex grind and is razor sharp with an unsharpened harpoon swedge. The guard is 416 SS and has been soldered on. It is furnished in a beautiful cut of cocobolo, heavily sculpted and buffed to a bright finish and features a single mosaic pin. The leather sheath is suitable for vertical carry and is hand tooled and dyed dark brown.
