Gona try ELMAX

I had mine tested at the heat treater when I dropped off my own blades. Any heat treat shop will have a rc tester, and if they don't well then they need not be in business...

Ok, fair enough there is one half hour from my home,
Thank you!
It just leaves a little indent correct?

Yeah depending on what scale the use, the A scale doesnt leave as big of a dimple as the C scale. Its not very big the on the C scale, maybe .010" wide and deep.

Had good luck with the performance of it in the two knives I used it in (Kershaw Speedform 1 and 2). Shame I sold one and lost the other though.

This is off topic, and I apologize, but it seems fitting Gator97: THANK YOU for your amazing page. It is literally my go to for steel composition and comparisons. That page ROCKS.

I have a 566 and It needs touching up weekly. I did get some diamond stones to hopefully resolve the issues.

How often does it get used per week and what materials are being cut? Also, what were you using to sharpen with before you got the diamond stones? Let us know how diamond works out for you.

Currently saving up and considering a 566, which would be my first real knife.

First off, I love the 566, carries well, perfect design and shape, smooth as butter de-assisted. I cut all kinds of stuff throughout the week, tape, paper, plastic, wood, cardboard, etc. I have been using a SM as my sharpening system, starting with brown rods all the way down to the UF's then a strop with 1 micron diamond spray. I have learned that the knife takes a better edge when stopping at the fine rods then stropping. I purchased a DMT aligner kit and added a extra course stone with it. I have been practicing with it on other knives before I put it on the 566 and that EC stone really takes off steel quickly.

Once I get the hang of the aligner kit I will put it on the 566 and see what happens.

Get the knife, you will not be disappointed.
