What should I use to finish/seal Goncalo Alves scales on my knife. Im looking for something some what durable cause this knife will see field use. Thanks
Mike
I'm partial to Watco Danish Oil or Deftoil. These are penetrating oil finishes that harden in the wood. For a beautiful wood like Goncalo Alves, I would use the natural/neutral color.
Look up some older threads on using super glue.I tried it on cocobolo and it worked fine.I made a handle with Goncalo Alves not to long ago and sealed it with Aero Gloss model airplane dope( clear Laquer).
