As we have all discussed on other threads, BOB contents is a case of horses for courses.I have been going through some sites looking at fishing kit contents, these range from the ultra light ( dental floss and a bent pin ) to the full on St Peter job's with gill nets and harpoons.
I tend to carry a basic;
20m of line
hooks of various size
lead split shot
swivels
beads

I am not a fisherman, but did a bit as a kid, as anybody got any hints,tips or additions ????. I would use the line either on a pole or at the end of para cord. I keep the kit in a 35mm film pot (to use as a float)and have also practiced making lure's from just about everything, But I have,to my shame never used the kit or ideas first hand. Come on guys tell me what you know.....Please remember the fish we eat in the UK are the size of the bait you guy's use in the US.:D

I carry a kit like your's when backpacking in the mountains.I have used it to catch fish for dinner on several occasions.I use corn alot as bait.It works well in the areas where I fish.I buy canned corn and epty it into ziploc bags.The fish really like it and if all else fells,you can heat the corn and eat it as well.Enjoy and good luck.

Well it looks like its only Booger and I that eat fish around here..!
Maybe the rest of you guys don't like getting your blade's smelly:barf:
