Gone Forever?

Sometimes we need reminding of how blessed we are.Glad for you my friend.

A good ending! Glad you found that beauty Gev. I have mis-placed a few in my time, which later turned up. There are three that I remember loosing for good, one to the deep blue sea, another to the sands of a beach on a beautiful sunny day, the third was from theft by someone close to me, long ago, and long forgiven...they are now merely memories to me...

It is a good day!
She is a beauty!! Glad you found her.

It is indeed, Dave! A good day, a great venue, and good friends. Truly nourishing and strangely got me thinking about Donne's work Devotions and Emergent Occasions. No man is an IIand

So very true ...along with the mindfulness and friends to help you to really see what has been offered. Thank you my friend!

Thanks, Duane! I had no doubt about you Wisdom from getting to know you here, my friend. Forgiveness and perspective are key insights. Thanks for the reminder!

The fibre of our will is something not even the mightiest nor prettiest blade can slice through.
glad you found it Gev.

There was a kid I worked with who had a way of finding lost items. He used to say, "Stop. Close your eyes. Now, attach the fiber of your will to it, and reel it in." We looked at him like he was crazy, and laughed at him, but sometimes if we were desperate, I'd try it. It often worked! :D

3 cheers for r8shell and her co-worker!!!

I'm old enough to know better, but I'm still a sucker for the fairy tales with happy endings. Glad this is one of them, Gevonovich!

Very good outcome.

I'd like to add my tale too and it's uncanny because it happened almost exactly at the same time you posted the thread Gev.

Over two years ago my mother died and just shortly before that I lost my Northfield Blade Forum 2008 Stockman (stag). After returning from the cremation there was a leak in the kitchen, water damage mess everywhere and in the clear up and confusion I was sure the knife had vanished or been stolen by a workman, these things go on. Some months later Charlie was able to sell me a replacement for the missing Forum Knife. I simply believed the knife was gone or destroyed.

Last night I begin to stick my hands down the side of a favored sofa, one that does not get moved at all. I have NO idea why I was doing this and it was not a pleasant task....:barf::barf:Lot of muck, crumbs you know It's a fixed seat sofa, you can't move it and the fingers nearly get pinched off. Then, I feel something sort of metallic amongst the well, muck. Real job to get my fingers out and there is the 2008 Forum Knife in a rather sorry state, tarnished, clogged up with crap and very bad verdigris, brass bleed into the stag, but what an amazing occurence! I had looked before but not thoroghly due to the tight squeeze involved.

So it may take more than two and a half years but there we are! I now have knives No.39 and 44 and a slightly less patina covered sofa:D

But will the Chambriard Compact also stag return? a much loved knife lost on I think..a trip over a year ago? At least there's hope!

Regards, Will Power

I am so happy that your Forum knife has been reunited with you!! The universe is mysterious isn't it.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Its a sad part of life I know all to well myself.

May the Chambraird in stag show up when you least expect it!!
