Up for your consideration as my collection trimming continues is a recipient of Blade Magazines knife of the year '17 and Pro-Tech's first plunge/button lock flipper that preceded the others and set the stage.
Pro-Tech Cambria
This was a limited edition run of only 200 made in this configuration and is numbered 33. Same that is featured on the makers website! It features carbon fiber inlays in both the show side scale and very skillfully embossed in the button.
Form, fit and finish is outstanding. Ergonomics are arguably better in hand than it's button lock kin due to the curvature of the scales when in hand. Detent is perfectly tuned which makes for a snappy action and effortlessly drops shut closes smooth with compression of the button lock. Locks up solid with no play. Blade appears to favor show side and will rub the inner scale on occasion and but, not every time. I have not attempted to contact Pro-Tech and try out their excellent customer service have them tinker with/correct it. The DLC does have an ever so slight shade variance as a result of the above but, barely noticeable and only under certain lighting angles; otherwise flawless.
