Here is a pic, sorry its kinda hard to make out as I blacken and wax the top of my hafts..Say a dead straight perfect grain is 12-6 on a clock face..This one runs about 10:30-4:30, not perfectly straight but pretty decent..
That said I wouldent do real heavy splitting or Conan like chopping with a curly figured haft..They by nature are not quite as strong as straight grain hafts..
