Wow that is stunning! It's great that you could re-purpose old tortoiseshell. The bolsters look really nicely done. The blade profile looks really clean with that swedge. Awesome job!
 
Nice attempt, but really you couldn't have done better? Alright now send it on to me for me to test in my pocket for all of the rest of my natural born days! Sir, if this is your first attempt at a slip joint, I can't imagine what number 2 and so on will look like! Outfriggin standing. keepem sharp

Thank you for the kind comments. I was happy with the knife, mostly because my first attempt at using antique shell worked out ok. My wife is indeed happy it as well. She has come up with ideas for next Christmas already. I will not have to guess at what she wants.
