It's all rough right now, I just splashed a quick etch on to see what I've got to work with.
But if that ain't potential, I don't know what is :D

Cant see it!

Sometimes I see people saying "hamon" when what the have pictures is simply scale that they never ground off and looks like a hamon because it etches at a different rate than normal steel. Ive never took the time to point it out because I thought it was insulting. Not saying thats what you have, but the shiny spots do look like how scale reacts to etching.

Great point- in this case, the activity was visible at 120 grit, but it's much easier to photograph after a quick etch :thumbup:
