Anybody got any experience with these, they have some pretty impressive stories and videos on their website. I like it because it's KISS, almost indestructable, and compact as hell. This layed up in the house, surfing the net stuff can get expensive.;) Chris

Honestly, I am little skeptical. I am not saying they wouldn't work, but its definitely not conventional. If you try one out, let us know how it works. One would be nice to leave stashed in my truck or car.

I was too until I watched the videos and read the reviews, looks like this thing is for real. Chris

and if it doesn't work it looks like it'd make a dandy back scratcher..please let us know though always looking to lighten the load.

that thing looks pretty wild.....:o the site is cool....:D

i'm curious abot them now too....

I was speechless when I watched the first video I downloaded from there. I figured it would catch fish but the guy reeled in a 10.5lb steelhead with that contraption! and with the standard rod too, it said.

I always wanted a portable pole but never could bring myself to buy a telescoping or break down one. I hope you get some responses from people who have actually used them as well, runningboar.

Problem with these things is that they are pretty spendy for something I have never heard of or tried myself, which also makes me think it might be a pretty good product. Even on ebay they are selling for over 40 bucks with 10 or 12 dollars shipping, which means someone is using them and liking them. Maybe someone will chime in with a field report. Chris

Never used one, but have seen several very old versions used as ice fishing rods in the old days. Straighter shafts, but with the spring. What goes around comes around I guess. It is interesting though. I think it might be nice for stream fishing for brookies. I'll definitely look into them.

I am not looking at this thing replacing my beloved shimano 6 and 6.6 spinning rods but I am looking at something I can have with me virtually all the time and catch some fish if the opportunity comes up. You could spool up with some of the new braids, which unlike mono don't break down with age, a compact tackle kit and be ready to go at the drop of a hat, and it would take up very little space in my pack. Chris

Thats the same idea I have. Never know when a good brookie spot might show itself.

I saw these and thought they looked like a good idea. But then I realized the biggest flaw. SENSITIVITY. Your not going to have any feel for whats going on at the end of the line with this thing. Of course it is probably unbreakable, but then I've never broken a fishing rod either.

Seems the uglier things get, the more they cost. :D

Cut yerself a piece of cane and have fun.

I usually end up losing my favorite lures, getting huge birdsnests in my reel, getting snagged in trees while backcasting, snagging logs, snagging myself, snagging my net, snagging my hat, swearing up a storm and generally having an awesome time.:D And that is just when I'm spinning, you should see me try to fly fish.

Maybe, as far as the cane thing, never figured out how to fish a top water lure or a spinner bait with one. Chances are if you are fishing in an oportunity type situation you will not have a hills bros can of worms in your pocket. Chris

I can see where it would work real good to play a fish with the proper tempering of the metal (for springiness). And it would be almost indestructible unless you remove the temper from it.

Get a hound dog, (lure retriever) I don't know if they make that particular brand anymore but it has saved me countless hundreds of dollars (and your priceless fish catching lures). It is just some lead on some formed wire that looks like a hound dog, just tie a string to it, I had my string attached to a old reel, to reel it in and hold the line.
