:D So I was emailing back & forth with Mr. Van Heerden about knives. I mentioned that one of my beloved A2 A3's [collaboration between he & the other amazing Andre (Thorburn)] had a scratched up, messed up clip...which due to it's "previous owner's use" is the reason I can be relaxed about actually carrying such an amazing, beautiful and otherwise perfect, custom knife...because the scratched clip made it less than 100% perfect (I had sent him a photo).
So today, about a month after that discussion...a package arrives at my door (from South Africa to Los Angeles). In it...a brand new, hand made clip & torx screws for my black G10 A2A3! He just made it & sent it! What an unbelievably nice thing to do!! Yet this incredible generosity by Mr. Van Heerden has caused me a serious new problem. What am I going to do now about carrying it?! IT'S PERFECT AGAIN! - Andre, should you ever see this...thank you so very much. I'm blown away by the kindness & generosity of that gesture. When we meet at a future knife show, sushi on me, my friend.

Awesome story - I've met both Andres once (with future meetings likely) and they are both incredibly nice, generous men. What a pleasure it is to own their knives - not just because of the ridiculously amazing craftsmanship, but because of such wonderful personal character.
