good bad and UGLY

i certainly understand the fee problems.... my issue is time, and my lack of it.... there are weeks where i am on here (bf) all the time then there are months whhere i am lucky if i can get on to see whats happening and check the exchange..... the issue between me and the seller is simple, i did not have time .... and the maill service failed me by not delivering a payment to him cause of a wrinkled address label....

The fees do suck. What I do is I look for sales that list the total sale price which includes shipping, insurance, and paypal fees. And if selling I do the same for the buyer. I include all those things in my posted price. Perhaps if I bought and sold more I might change my mind.

The only reason I put paypal seperate and not in the Cost is so the customer has the option of paying the fee's or saving on the Money order, they have a choice that way.
I buy from sellers that offer both also as I feel that is fair to let me make up my mind if I want to pay the extra fee's or not.

But it is up to the individual for sure, everyboby has there preferances:thumbup:

Hey, ValleyTin.....
I just put a post that should keep them quiet for a bit.
:D .... I just kill me!

It's also fortunate that we have some very honest and trusting guys here that have even shipped a very nice knife to me before I even confirmed that I'd sent payment. I've never given any reasons not to trust me......but still: That's pretty cool in my book!

i'll second that. the last deal i did was with mercmaster, and much to my surprise when i sent him an e-mail the next day to tell him the MO was on the way i promptly got one back saying that he had shipped the knife already based on my (limited) feedback here. it sure made me glad when the USPS was prompt with their delivery of the MO.

having said all that, my previous post was not a discourse on what is better or worse, just my thoughts on it. the best deal is the one that works for both parties.

When I'm selling something here or on ebay, I only accept Postal MO. This is due to the possiblility of a buyer yanking the authorization after the item has been sent. On the other hand though, I have mainly used PayPal over the past few months to pay for aquired INFI. It is the only way to pay a personal seller with my credit card when cash is short. In fact I only have my CC on my PayPal accout, as I don't feel comfortable with them having access to my checking account number. Unless PayPal becomes more "seller friendly" in terms of recourse when a buyer pulls something, I doubt that I will ever accept it as a form of payment. I know this sounds hypcritical, but it is what it is, LOL.

Yeah the whole thing sucks, but we know VTW is a great guy. Everyone gets too busy at work or on business trips. I think no less of VTW and have been so busy as of late that I can fully understand. Glad I had this weekend off finally.

Interesting thread.

I'm just frustrated that SO FEW US outlets accept international Visa or Mastercard. Surely it's not THAT difficult to have a secure site and to verify payment??

Been using Paypal as a buyer and WAS a fan, until I realized that I had used up my limit, I naively assumed that by paying off my credit card debt to them in full this would release more funds. Uh uh, have to upgrade and this takes time, don't like this and now I want to pay for an item on e-bay but find I can't! His site won't accept 'foreign' Visa cards and paypal won't let me pay even though I don't owe them a penny! What a mess, driving me bloody bonkers. the e.bayer seems friendly and patient but I'm furious that I can't pay him right now. and, what's the POINT of VISA or MASTER if they are not international?? Wire transfer or money orders? No thanks.....

Fed up, will never buy another knife again...er...yeah right!

Try calling the Paypal customer service line. (easily found on their site.)
It might not help, but it's worth a shot.

PayPal is anti-gun. 'Nuff said.

Also so is ebay. These people use the money they get to feed the globalist world view that takes the very freedoms that we enjoy as Americans and Patriots! Im in the process of ending my paypal and ebay accounts:thumbup: .

VTW thats sad that you got screwed with MO... I used it to get my first Busse, the CGFBM - I had no issue with time, so it suited me, and I feel sorry for the bad luck that you got...

Looks like the thread has been resolved now, and I hope things are all sweet now
